Cancellation policy

Cancellation policy

Due to the high number of cancellations received, unfortunately it has become necessary to introduce the following 48 hour lesson cancellation policy, which applies to all missed lessons or late cancellations, regardless of the reason. Most other driving schools also enforce a 48 hour cancellation policy.

*** 48 hours minimum notice to cancel ***

1.0 – Cancellation policy

1.1 You must give your driving instructor at least the ‘minimum notice’ if you wish to cancel or re-schedule a driving lesson, regardless of the reason, otherwise you will be liable to pay for 100% of the cancelled lesson fee.
1.2 Less than the ‘minimum notice’ to cancel or re-schedule a lesson, or non-attendance on the day, regardless of the reason, does incur a 100% cancellation charge, as your driving instructor will be unable to re-use the time to support other learners.
1.3 Where you have pre-paid for any lesson but fail to attend, or provide the ‘minimum notice’ to cancel or re-schedule the lesson, the pre-payment will be taken as payment for the cancelled lesson.
1.4 Where you have NOT pre-paid for any lesson but fail to attend or provide the ‘minimum notice’ to cancel or re-schedule the lesson, you will be expected to pay 100% of the cancelled lesson fee prior to booking your next lesson.
1.5 If you are aware you may be late for your lesson please contact your driving instructor at the earliest opportunity and every effort will be made to accommodate you. Your driving instructor will always do all they can to help, although regretfully they cannot guarantee to be able to deliver your full lesson if you do not arrive on time, instead they may only be able to complete part of the lesson.
1.6 Occasionally the instructor may ask the pupil if they are able to move their lesson to a different day or time during that ‘working week’ (Monday to Sunday) (usually to accommodate another pupil). If the pupil agrees to move their lesson but then cancels that lesson, regardless of the reason, without providing the ‘minimum notice’ to cancel or re-schedule the lesson, they will be expected to pay 100% of the cancelled lesson fee prior to booking their next lesson. Therefore, the pupil should be certain before agreeing to move their lesson. (Please be considerate to the instructor who is trying to accommodate pupil’s and plan their diary.)

(Please also refer to ‘ ‘Terms and conditions’ – 3.7)

1.7 If you regularly cancel your lessons, regardless of the reason, your driving instructor will discuss this with you, and may ask you to put your lessons on hold until you can commit to regular lessons;  Or alternatively you may prefer to change your ‘Agreed regular lessons‘ from ‘weekly/fortnightly lessons’ to ‘occasional lessons’.
1.8 If you regularly cancel your lessons, regardless of the reason, your driving instructor may ask you to make future payments when booking a lesson.
1.9 Wherever possible, please give your driving instructor as much notice as possible to cancel or re-schedule a lesson – please see ‘Terms & Conditions‘ for more information.
